About Us...

Poster Perfect is a family business based in Stockport, in the North West of England.

It is a personal collection that has been the product of years of scouring the auction houses of deepest darkest Britain. While dealing in antiques, Peter found himself coming across unnoticed and unloved rolls of posters amongst the furniture. Having seen the reaction to the posters pasted to the walls of the local pub in North London where one of his sons lives, he decided it might be worth acquiring some of these rolls. 15 years, a good few trips to Christies and a few thousand posters later...

Peter and his sons Chris and Alastair share a passion for not just the visuals in the posters, but the amazing stories behind them, and the nostalgia that the posters invoke in the people that buy, display and see them. From the original gig posters that advertised acts such as Bob Dylan, The Smiths, Blondie or The Rolling Stones, to movie posters for classics such as Jaws, Breakfast at Tiffany's or Star Wars, the posters always get people talking. Fascinating original blueprints for the steam engines at the turn of the 1900's and original London Underground posters; WWI and WWII propaganda posters; French Resistance; Theatre Playbills; Ocean Liner adverts and posters for the golden age of railway. It's an endless treasure trove. Often, it's the less valuable but equally nostalgia inducing 1980's and 1990's movie posters that get people the most excited. They make the perfect thoughtful and unique presents: the poster for their favourite movie that was up in the cinema when the film came out.
